I use both digital and film cameras, depending on your preference. Both have their advantages and disadvantages; I'll be happy to discuss these with you when you contact me and can usually help in deciding which format is best for your requirements. Digital Rates are based on number of images taken and usually works out cheaper than utilising film, although more post production work is usually required (i.e. colour correction, sharpening, colour curve and level adjustment etc.) which is chargeable if done by me. Images can be provided to you in high, medium or low resolution, dependent on your requirements. Film I utilise both 35mm and medium format / 120 (6x4.5cm) cameras, and both negative and transparency film. There are distinct advantages to using these; colour reproduction is more accurate and doesn't require as much post production work. The negatives or transparencies can be scanned at the processing stage and the scans saved to CD as JPEG image files, so this is in effect a "digital" process. Rates here depend on number of films utilised (and scanning cost if appropriate. Some other useful bitsBelow are a few bits of information, some of which may be of interest to you (some may be boring!). Rates Almost every photographic job is different, so to quote "standard" rates may be a bit misleading. For regular clients (i.e. jobs commissioned 4 or more times per year), I offer a discount (please discuss with me). Rates charged depend on time, travel, images / film, final intended use(s), expenses and other factors, but clients assure me my rates are reasonable. Please ring to discuss your requirements. When you do contact me, it is useful for me to know the following to give you any advice, or work out an accurate rate for the job;
Copyright All images taken by me remain my copyright by law. For clients who understand copyright (a very complex issue), I only assign copyright for payment of an additional fee. If you are unsure about copyright, a very useful laypersons' guide is available at the B I P P website; please click here to access it. When I deliver / send the images to you, along with my invoice I shall issue you (or the client in the case of agencies) a licence to use, which details all the permitted use(s) for the images, timescales, credits etc. Terms of Business A full written copy of my terms of business is available by request; e-mail, phone or write and I'll post you a copy. |
